By using lighting design, bespoke carpentry, material finishes and art we created the different areas within this large basement room

The large basement room houses the above family living area and below projector cinema

A huge squashy U shaped velvet sofa and bespoke ottoman dominate this section of the basement.. Directional recessed downlights highlight art and an LED strip washes light down the curtain. Lighting scenes set include ‘cinema’ and ‘drinks’. There’s an additional ring of colour changing recessed downlights for a party scene.

Rather than a blank wall when the screen is up, we created recesses to showcase art, lit with linear LED. When the ‘Cinema’ command is given the screen lowers, the lights in the recesses turn off, all other lights dim/turn off and the large curtain closes.

BASEMENT OFFICE

Bespoke carpentry with back lit shelving. The cupboards house filing cabinets and one of the base units a pull out pottery wheel. Two chandeliers and recessed downlights give the much required light for this office. The curtain is backed in a deep blue and can be operated independently from the office.

Recessed downlights give a soft general light and highlight wall art. The journey down to the basement is guided with low level wall lights.
